Wow!!! Thank you all for showing up to our 2024 Earth Day River Cleanup on Saturday. It was a record breaking event for us, with almost 400 volunteers and 8,620 pounds of trash collected! Thank you to our sponsor Northwest Renewables for supporting our River Cleanup Program, and our partners who made this event possible: The City of Spokane, Flow Adventures, Spokane County Master Composters and Recyclers, and the entire team of four wheelers.
Not only did we cleanup tons of trash from our environment, we learned about recycling, thanks to Spokane County Master Recyclers. Much of the recyclable items were dirty, thanks to months on the riverbanks and couldn’t be recycled. This means we need to do our best to keep trash from entering our environment and river. For that message we invited Spokane Zero Waste.
