How to Participate
The event is free to participate. All proceeds from our silent auction will benefit Spokane Riverkeeper and support our annual programs and services. All participants who wish to view the live Youtube stream or participate in silent auctions must register for our event via this page. Our Event.Gives platform is primarily mobile phone based. Once registered, event notifications will be sent your your mobile phone and/or email.
The Spokane River connects all of us
This event called the Spoken River, features live stories of these connections between the watershed's individuals, communities, and the Spokane River. You will hear compelling stories of river-connection and inspiration from authors, artists, community members, and others in their own words.
Award-winning author, Jess Walter will give a preview of his brand new book The Cold Millions, which will be out the day before on October 27th. He will be reading a selection from the book and reflecting on the role of the Spokane River in this story.
We will hear from other compelling river voices as well - stories of ecological, and personal recovery, stories of culture and heritage, stories of the myriad community connections and the values that the Spokane River contributes to life and wellbeing or those who live in our watershed and our region.
The Spokane River needs your financial support now more than ever
Our work to protect the Spokane River continues, pandemic or not. We are a newly free-standing organization, working with law and policy to defend clean water in our basin's rivers. We educate our youth about healthy watersheds and fish. We collaborate to collect scientific data, to pick up litter, to conduct river patrols and we do outreach to the urban homeless population along the Spokane River. In doing so, you will support the operations and programs that protect and benefit the Spokane River, it's economy and the well-being of its citizens. Please donate or become a sponsor today.

The silent auction opens Wednesday, September 30th and will close at 5 PM Pacific on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
