Join Spokane Riverkeeper, Save Our Wild Salmon, and Spokane Falls Trout Unlimited for a happy hour on January 28. Save Our Wild Salmon will lead the discussion and show you how to give strong testimony on the Northwest Power and Conservation Council’s five-year Fish and Wildlife Program, which guides actions to protect native fish on the Columbia and Snake Rivers.

📅 January 28, 5:30-7:30 | 📍 Black Label Brewing, 19 W Main Ave Spokane WA

Background

The Northwest Power and Conservation Council (NPCC) is updating its 5-year Fish and Wildlife Program – a regional plan for mitigating harm to endangered native fish affected by hydropower operations on the Columbia and Snake rivers. And they want to hear from YOU! In addition to requesting online public comments on the draft Program until March 2nd, the Council is hosting in-person public hearings throughout the NW, with a stop in Spokane on February 3rd.

Attend a happy hour on January 28th to learn how to give a strong testimony for salmon. Then, on February 3rd, show that eastern Washington cares about our cold-water fisheries by testifying during the NPCC hearing.

With the Resilient Columbia Basin Agreement abandoned and continued efforts to weaken the Endangered Species Act, the NPCC 2026 Fish and Wildlife Program is the best path to mitigate further harm to fish from hydropower operations in the Columbia and Snake Rivers and make actionable progress towards recovery goals. Together, we can use our voices to ensure the Program is strong enough to achieve that goal.
