hangman creek Sediment Study

Community Science: You collect data that protect the river

Join our effort to monitor pollution from Hangman Creek. Hangman Creek has some of the worst water quality in the state. We use citizen science to measure the intensity and duration of degraded water quality in Hangman Creek and its effect on the Spokane River. Studies are generally open in the winter and spring.

water temperature

We monitor water temperature in the Spokane River watershed to inform the public, policy makers, and regulators about how high water temperatures affect our river. The Spokane Riverkeepers have set up a few real time temperature loggers that send us temperature data in real time and place ambient summer water temperature loggers throughout the watershed each year.
