Join Spokane Riverkeeper and 350 Spokane for an easy, educational 9-mile roll along the Spokane River! Bring your bike, roller skates, scooter, or other human-powered wheels and join us for a leisurely ride down the Centennial Trail from the Harvard Road Trailhead toward Sullivan and back.

Along the way, we’ll make a few stops to look at the Spokane River and talk about its past, present, and future. We’ll roll through the section of the river that went completely dry two summers in a row and into the reach where the Spokane River gains water from the Spokane Valley-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer. Along the way, we’ll explore how climate change, changing precipitation patterns, and rising temperatures are affecting the river, its habitats, and the people who depend on it.

The ride will be relaxed and family-friendly, with a pace of about 5–10 mph and plenty of opportunities to stop, learn, and take in the river.

After the ride, stick around for a social happy hour at Emrys Beer & Mead Works, right across the road from where we’ll meet. Participation in the ride is not required to join the Happy Hour!

Who: Anyone with a set of wheels to ride! We welcome all ages and all kinds of human-powered wheels, including bikes, roller skates, scooters, and more.

Getting there & Parking: Parking is available at the Harvard Road Trailhead. There is also street parking available on the side streets off Harvard Road. Please be mindful of nearby residents and businesses when parking. Bus transportation is also available with access via STA Route 7.
