Join the Spokane Riverkeeper and friends to tour Hangman Creek, virtually! This presentation will explore our much loved and but relatively unknown creek, starting with current restoration efforts in the basin.

Hangman Creek has some of the worst water quality in Washington State. Sediment, temperature, bacteria, and more all violate water quality standards. But recent focus on restoration is aiming to change that, while providing habitat for wildlife (and reintroduced salmon!).

The Spokane Riverkeeper’s most recent project planted riparian vegetation in a section of Rock Creek that burned in the Ford fire in 2016.

Restoration work in the basin is progressing well beyond planting crucial riparian habitat. Current work is focusing on reconnecting flood plains, restoring historic meanders, and providing structure for fish.
