Join us for a family friendly river cleanup on April 18th, 2026! Cleaning up the banks and bottom of the Spokane River is a great way to volunteer, get some exercise, meet new friends, and help our river!

Each year for Earth Day our Spokane community removes 9,000+ pounds of trash from High Bridge and People’s Park. This trash would otherwise end up in our river, causing damage to habitat, microplastic pollution, and harm to wildlife.

We will kick off at 10AM and be in the park until about 1PM—feel free to come and go as you like! Bags, gloves, and a limited number of pickers will be provided. Once you have your supplies, you can choose where you’d like to clean up throughout the area. Maps will emailed ahead of the cleanup.

PNW Espressgo will be on site as well as a to be determinded food truck! We will have a variety of partner organizations there tabling so stick around after cleaning up for some lunch, learning, and engaging activities.

What to bring and wear:

  • Wear sturdy walking shoes and dress for the weather.

  • Bring sunscreen, gloves, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated while you work.

  • Bring a trash picker if you have one, we will have a limited number available.

Let’s work together to protect and restore the Spokane River! We can’t wait to see you there.
