Join Spokane Riverkeeper for a day of fishing, learning, and community connection on the beautiful Spokane River! Whether you’re brand new to fishing or a seasoned angler, Community Fishing Day is a chance to share your love for the river and help others feel at home on the water.
Saturday, June 6, 2025
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
HWY 291 Boat Launch/Little Spokane River Access
Bring your fishing gear—or extra equipment to share—and come ready to:
Learn how to use a spin reel
Swap fishing tips and techniques
Meet fellow river-lovers and fishing buddies
Learn about toxics in the river and what they mean for fish and people
Get the latest information on fish consumption advisories and how to fish safely
Enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly outdoor event
Throughout the day, we’ll also share information about water quality, contaminants in the river, and how they impact fish populations and anglers alike—because caring for the river means understanding both the joy of fishing and the challenges our watershed faces.
Want to get involved as a volunteer instructor? We’re looking for experienced anglers who are excited to teach and support beginners.
Come as you are—this day is about building community, sharing skills, and celebrating the Spokane River together.
